Captain B.L. Meek, CD

February 2006 – June 2011; April 2013 – April 2016

Captain Bonnie Meek is originally from St. Catherine’s, Ontario. In 1986 she enrolled in 2347 Argyll and Sutherland Highlander’s of Canada (Princess Louisa’s) (A&SHofC (PL)) , Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corp (RCAC) as an army cadet. She served for 5 years, ending at MWO and second in command of the cadet corps.

In October 1991 she was sworn in to the affiliated unit A&SHofC(PL) as a Supply Technician. During this time she attended several occupation courses as well as an infantry communications course and a driver wheel course. She was employed in the unit as the Regimental QM representative for all highland kit issue. During her time with the Primary Reserve, she continued to volunteer her time with the cadet corps, working in training and taking their first drill team to competition.

In October of 1996 Captain Meek component transferred from the Primary Reserve to the Reserve Cadet Instructor Cadre (CIC), again working with the 2347 A&SHofC(PL) RCAC, this time as an officer. 2001 brought about the component transfer of her husband to the Regular Force and a move to CFB Borden. During her one year in Borden she worked with 2408 Borden Army Cadets as a training officer. In 2003 she transferred to 2642 3RCR RCAC in CFB Petawawa. She worked there for 2 years in the training and administration positions. 2005 brought a short transfer to 638 Squadron in Pembroke to assist the then current Commanding Officer with logistics and training. At the end of January 2006, she transferred to 2677 to take command of the cadet corps. From February 2006 to June of 2011 she was the Commanding Officer of 2677. In June of 2011 she passed command to the new incoming CO, taking over the training officer position. April 2013 brought about the opportunity to again take over command of 2677 and she has been the Commanding Officer of 2677 since then.

During Captain Meek’s time as a CIC, now COATS officer, she has worked several at several summer training centres.  She worked at Cadet Training Centre (CTC) Blackdown as an Escort Officer and ADP Coordinator, and at CTC Connaught as a Range Safety Officer on the Large Bore and Air Rifle ranges.

In her civilian work, Captain Meek has worked several contracts on the base, notably with NPF Accounts, as an accounting clerk and CSOR as a storesman. Captain Meek is currently self-employed as an Income Tax Preparer and efiler, and also owns and operates a dog and small animal boarding facility in the area.

Captain Meek is a graduate of Mohawk College of Applied Arts and Technology with a Diploma in Transportation Engineering Technology.

After completing over 20 years as a Cadet Instructor Cadre (CIC) officer, Capt Meek completed a sub-component transfer to the Regular Force as a Health Care Administration Officer in Sep 2016.

Captain Meek is married to William Meek and has three children; one son, Dustin and two daughters Samantha and Annelynn.  All three of her children are involved with cadets.
